How to create a standalone Zoom Meeting event in GiraffePad.
1: Zoom Meeting events in GiraffePad:
When you create your Zoom Meeting event in GiraffePad you replicate everything you would normally do with a live face to face event but rather than turn up at the workshop location, the link to the zoom call will be embedded in the GiraffePad event page. This gives you the following advantages:
- All event information in one secure event page, including your session description, Meeting link, objectives, learning resources, group and private chat functions.
- No need for separate emails with links to each learner. The event page they are invited to has the "Join zoom call" button.
- When the learners access the zoom call from their GiraffePad event page they do so from a page dedicated to your event, not just another email in their inbox.
- A secure and private way of sharing the zoom link as this is embedded in the event page.
2: Creating a Zoom event in GiraffePad:
For a standalone event, click on "Add event" either on your Events tab or from within the relevant Client in the Client tab. You will see the familiar Add an event screen but under the date and time boxes you have the following option:
Select the "Zoom meeting" button and you will then have the following options:
These will be the same options you will be familiar with from the Zoom meeting set up page. Select the options you want for your event, complete your event description (remember, you can always edit this at a later point) and click "Save". Your Zoom event is created.
3: The Zoom event page:
The Zoom event page is set up in exactly the same way as a face to face event but with the addition of a button to "Join zoom meeting". You can now add your objectives, any learning resources and when you are ready you can invite your learners.
4: The Zoom event on your Events and Client menu:
On your "Events" tab where all your events are listed, any that are set up as Zoom events will be indicated with the blue Zoom logo and "Zoom meeting":
Similarly, on your Client tab where you events are listed under the relevant client a Zoom event will be identified with the blue zoom logo:
5: Starting your Zoom event:
When you are ready to start your event and join the Zoom meeting, simply log in to GiraffePad, click on the relevant event tile and then click on the "Join Zoom meeting" button:
This will take you to Zoom and you are ready to launch your meeting:
