When to use a "Programme" rather than an "Event":

1: What is the "Programme" functionality?

Based on our users feedback we have built "Programmes" to facilitate a series of learning events that are linked. For example, like a Management Development Programme that might have a series of workshops plus individual coaching  sessions for the learners. There might also be a large group of learners that need to be sub-divided in to cohorts for each of the workshops. Rather than setting up countless event pages that are not linked together, these can now all be stored in a Progamme, saving you time and making a much more efficient way of managing the process.

Like an event, a Programme can have:

  • it's own description
  • Multiple trainers
  • its own overarching objectives
  • its own resources
  • Programme group chat.

2: What about the learners?

A key feature is how you manage your learners. You invite the learners to the Programme and they appear in a list on the Programme page. Each time you create an event you have a drop down box where you can select all the learners, saving you having to re-input their email address each time.

You also have the option of inviting specific learners from the list to specific events. Helpful if you need to create cohorts or if you run events within the Programme which are not for the whole group (coaching sessions for example).

As a trainer you will also see individual learner pages for the Programme, where they can share their Programme objectives and feedback.

3: Are Programme "events" different?

The events you create within a Programme are identical to the stand-alone events other than the learner feature highlighted above. They are created  and edited in the same way (from within the Programme), you can add any trainer who has been added to the Programme and all the usual features such as objectives, resources etc.

You also have the option to "clone" an event within a Programme. A useful time-saver if you need to run the same workshop for different cohorts of learners for example.

Please take a look at the articles under the category "Creating and managing Progammes" for more specific details around each feature.
